DESCRIPTION:In this course\, students will be able to deepen their understanding of locally available basketry materials and fundamental techniques. We will learn how to harvest and process local plants that can be easily found in backyards\, urban neighborhoods\, and other natural areas\, with an emphasis on invasive species. Additionally\, there will be hands-on demonstrations of key basketry techniques\, such as cordage\, braiding\, weaving\, twining\, coiling\, plaiting\, and twill. This course is well-suited for those with basketry experience at all levels (including beginners) who want to learn how to identify\, harvest\, process\, and use the wide variety of plants nature has to offer in Peterborough and the surrounding areas. Students are also welcome to bring any materials from their own foraging. DESCRIPTION:If you are looking for some guidance on how to work on black canvases and to bring out your landscape painting\, this is the course for you. Cory will offer guidance with both oil and acrylic painters. DESCRIPTION:This course offers students the opportunity to work in both stained and fused glass techniques. \n\n\n\nThose who are new to these forms of glass work will have instruction in the basics of each in the first three weeks of the studio time and will complete a small piece in stained glass and one in fused glass. \n\n\n\nDuring the remaining seven weeks\, students can branch out on their own\, creating work of their choice with support from the instructor. \n\n\n\nStudents who come to open studio with some experience can bring their design ideas to the first class and can begin those projects on the first day. \n\n\n\nThe course materials fee covers all materials and equipment needed for one 8 ½” x 11” piece. \n\n\n\nAny additional glass that students might want can be bought from the instructor or the school. \n\n\n\nOutline: \n\n\n\nDay 1.  Cutting\, grinding and foiling glass \n\n\n\nDay2.   Soldering\, cleaning\, patina and polishing \n\n\n\nDay 3.    Fusing project – small square dish \n\n\n\nDays 4-10.
