Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30pm

The Art School is looking to hire a Summer Camp Coordinator as a summer student position with the help of the Summer Jobs Grant 2026. This position will primarily involve coordinating all summer camp communication and project initiatives related to 2026 Summer Camps. Overview of children, assisting instructors, coordinating volunteers, and ensuring prep material is complete for upcoming weeks. The Summer Camp Coordinator will work closely with the Art School of Peterborough’s Executive Director. This position will play a key role in the execution of our summer camps. A successful candidate will achieve success in this role if you are creative and dynamic, a team player, have high attention to detail and superior verbal skills, problem solver and a love for working with children. Duties will include supervising and ensuring safety of children, communication with parents, material prep work, coordinating and overseeing volunteers, aiding instructors when needed.

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Work in conjunction with The Art School’s Executive Director and Instructors around planning summer camp material.
  • Aid Instructors when needed
  • Prep all materials needed for upcoming summer camp weeks.
  • Coordinate Volunteers – Schedule breaks, ensure their full potential is being utilized, keeping them on task
  • Take photos of summer camp children to be uploaded to social media sites
  • Provide a strong leadership
  • Help organize Summer Camp indoor/outdoor games during break times when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in childcare, teachers college, early childhood education an asset
  • Relevant work experience is an asset
  • Experience with coordinating others, and events an asset
  • Child’s CPR and First Aid required
  • Strong verbal skills
  • Previous proven experience in social media
  • Self-motivated and ability to independently with minimal supervision and guidance as a team player
  • Proven evidence of superior organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent people relationship building skills

Instructor’s Assistant

Instructors Assistant, Summer Student Position – Part-time and Full-time positions available

Expected hours: 36 hours/wk; Part-time 14-21 hours/wk

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30pm; Part-time 2-3 days a week

The Art School is looking to hire three Instructor’s Assistants as a summer student position with the help from the Summer Jobs Grant 2026. This position will primarily involve aiding our Instructor with projects related to our 2026 Summer Camps. Overview of children, assisting instructors and ensuring prep material is complete for upcoming weeks. The Instructors Assistant will work closely with all of the Instructors and also The Art School of Peterborough’s Executive Director. This position will play a key role in the execution of our summer camps. A successful candidate will achieve success in this role if you are creative and dynamic, a team player, high attention to detail and superior verbal, problem solver and a love for working with children. Duties will include supervising and ensuring safety of children, instructing students, prep work, aiding instructors when needed.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work in conjunction with The Art School’s Instructors and the Executive Director

The Art School is looking to hire a Summer Camp Instructor as a summer student position. This position will primarily involve the execution of art projects, games and special events related to 2026 Summer Camps. Teaching experience and in depth knowledge of art processes related to Drawing/ Painting / Mixed Media and Pottery is required. Overview of children, utilization of volunteers and assistants, and working with Summer Camp Coordinator to ensure prep material is complete for projects will be required.

Instructors will work closely with the Art School of Peterborough’s Executive Director. This position will play a key role in the execution of our summer camps. A successful candidate will achieve success in this role if you are creative and dynamic, a team player, have high attention to detail and superior verbal skills, problem solver and a love for working with children. Requirements:

  • Performs detailed administrative duties in support of one or more functional areas, departments or administrators within established rules and regulations; coordinates daily activities to assure efficient operations; issues and tracks materials and items distributed to instructors, students, and the public; answers questions requiring judgment, knowledge and explanation of policies.
